MotorTrend Group

I spent 7 years as an editor in automotive publishing in what is now known as MotorTrend Group, and almost 15 years in the industry.

I covered industry leaders, new vehicle reviews, drag racing, road racing, dyno testing, new products, and DIY projects like turbo replacement and EFI tuning.

But I specialized in long-form technical writing, because being able to understand a highly technical topic, then accurately explain it to our readers, was extremely gratifying to me.

Examples include dissecting the latest high-performance engine designs to explain their advances, and including minute details like piston oil squirters and explaining why the customer would benefit.

Or interviewing some of the smartest engineers on the planet to painstakingly describe motor oil’s journey from the earth to the bottle. Because honestly, who really understands what makes a motor oil good?
